Easter fun!

Easter in Atlanta is always one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is perfect, azaleas and dogwoods are blooming, and it’s so much fun to color and hunt Easter eggs! We were fortunate enough to get to spend Easter in Atlanta this year, complete with egg coloring/hiding/hunting at Granny’s house, and Easter brunch with Grandma and PawPaw at Druid Hills.

Our beautiful eggs!

Thanks, Granny, for the fabulous Easter baskets!

Allie insisted on hiding a few eggs for Will :-)

And Granny made a YUMMY red velvet bunny cake!

Allie loved the Easter bunny at Druid Hills...

Will wasn't so sure....but as soon as the Easter bunny walked away, Will kept saying "Easter bunny! Easter bunny!"

Enjoy this fun video of our Easter egg hung! Will wasn't terribly into finding the eggs, but Allie LOVED it!

Allie's first movie...

So, yet again, I’m way behind on this post, but eventually……..

Allie has been asking to go to a movie for quite some time, so we finally had a great opportunity in mid-February. In our cute little Pennsylvania town of Lewisburg, we have a beautiful 1940’s art deco single screen movie theatre that has recently been refurbished. The theatre and community have a fantastic relationship, and as part of that relationship, the theatre does special events on occasion such as free kids movies ! We decided to take advantage of such an event! One Saturday afternoon during the Lewisburg Ice Festival, the theatre was showing a great movie, Ice Age, for the kids. The admission was simply the donation of a coat for a needy family. We scoured our closets to find some old coats that the kids had outgrown, and David and I packed Allie up to take her to her first movie. She was so excited! She even got a special tour of the projector room! We bought all the essentials at the refreshment counter including popcorn, gummy snacks, and lemonade….she was in heaven!

Allie did great throughout the movie. And, David and I enjoyed the show as well! Well definitely be going back to the theatre again very soon…..

Off to the ZOO with Granny!

I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years since we’ve been to the zoo! Allie wasn’t even 2 years old and Will was only ~9 months the last time we went. It was certainly time to make a trip back, and this time we persuaded Granny to go with us! We had a great day seeing the elephants, giraffes, zebras, panda bears, and tigers. We also got to pet goats and pigs, take a train ride, and ride the carousel….it was a great day!
