We headed out early to beat the crowd....turns out lots of other folks had the same idea. It didn't matter though....Allie had a fantastic time. Our first stop was the petting zoo where Allie got to pet (or "tickle" as she says) the goats, sheep, and pigs. She kept looking for chickens, but there were none to be found.
When then went on to see all of the big animals like the panda bears, lions, gorillas, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, elephants, etc. And for those of you familiar with the Lion King movie, we got to see the baboons (Rafiki), the wart hog (Pumba), and the meerkats (Timon). Allie thought that it was really fun to see all of her favorite movie characters!
Will cooperated by taking a nap in the stroller while Allie looked at all the animals, and then we took a quick break for Allie to eat a PBJ sandwich before heading over to the playground and merry-go-round.
Will finally decided to wake up and participate in the fun of the day. He was such a good baby the whole time we were there.
To sum up our day with the words of Daddy, "today was a perfect day".
