Growing Growing Growing.....

Ask anybody who goes more than a week without seeing Allie and Will and they will tell you that, without a doubt, these babies are growing, growing, growing faster than you can imagine.

We're not sure what Will weighs now, but a week and a half ago he was just under 10 pounds, so I'm guessing that he's surpassed the 10 pound mark by now. He's already moved out of his newborn clothes into his 0-3 month clothes, and he's out of the newborn diapers into his big boy size 1 diapers! Way to go Will!! He's started staying awake a bit more during the day, and not sleeping too bad at night. We've discovered that he's a belly sleeper (yes, I know he's supposed to sleep on his back, but he loves sleeping on his belly....please don't tell his pediatrician). At night, once he goes to sleep (which can be anywhere from 8pm-11pm), he pretty much sleeps 3 hours, takes his bottle, and goes back to sleep. We have to get up for 1am and 4am feedings, but that's it. Not too bad for a 5 week old, I guess. Although I haven't caught it on camera yet, Will started smiling this week. He smiled at me for the first time on Thursday. So sweet...

Allie is changing every day. Over the past few weeks, she seems to have "grown up". She's a little girl now, not a baby. She can say anything....she's like a little parrot repeating EVERYTHING that you say. I can't even begin to count the words that she says...not sure I can count that high! My favorite thing that she says now is "Ah-Coo!". You may not recognize this, but what she's trying to say is "Ah-Choo", like a sneeze. Anytime she hears someone sneeze, especially Will, she starts yelling "Ah-Coo, Ah-Coo". Too cute.... She's also started calling me "Mommy" this past week instead of saying "Ma Ma". It melts my heart.

Watching BAMA football with Pops

Sesame Street Live, "Elmo's Green Thumb"

Last Sunday we had the pleasure of taking Allie to her first show, Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Green Thumb at Phillips Arena. Allie had a wonderful time.....She loves "Ellllmmmmmooooo", and now she's a big fan of Abby Cadabby too. Baby Will didn't get to go to this one; it was all "Allie time"! Enjoy the photos and video....

On our way to the show....

Waiting to go inside....

We're ready!

Baby Will update...and Allie too!

Will's doing great! (although he could sleep a bit better at night for his mommy!)

Last weekend Will had some special visitors: Auntie, Uncle Britt, Aunt Tracey, Cousins Maddie and Anna, and Aunt Robyn all came up from Auburn to meet Will. We had a great afternoon, and Allie loved playing with Anna and Maddie!

On Wednesday, Will went for his first official doctor's visit. As you all know, we've been worried about Will's weight gain from the beginning. I was hoping that Will would weigh in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces or better (that would be a gain of 1/2 ounce/day, which is the minimum that babies should gain during those first few weeks). He shocked us all by weighing in at 8 pounds, 5.4 ounces! He'd gained a whole pound in the 9 days since his last weight check. What a relief! The doctor said to stop worrying about his weight gain...he is doing just fine! He's gonna be a bruiser!

This weekend is Will's first college football weekend, an important milestone in any baby's life! Since Alabama is playing Virginia Tech in Atlanta today, and Pops is making a trip over to Atlanta to visit Will for the first time, I decided that it was only appropriate to dress Will in his BAMA gear for today. Go BAMA! Good luck tonight!

This past week, Allie started school for her first full school year. She is in a 2K class at the International Preschool here in our neighborhood. Allie is the youngest in her class, but only by 5 days. Unfortunately, we got a call on the first day that she had a fever of 100.4 and we had to pick her up early. Not to worry though, she was fine. We're not sure why she had a fever (maybe cutting more teeth), but she's definitely not sick. Unfortunately, because we had to pick Allie up early on her first day, she missed her first Japanese lesson! I hope she can get caught up :-)
