Funny little girl....

2 quick funny things:

Allie is apparently a shoe fanatic! She loves to hold and play with her own shoes, but during the last couple of weeks she has discovered the shoes in Mommy and Daddy's closet. As you can see below, she loves pulling them out and sitting in a big pile of shoes! Not so much fun for me, but fun for her....apparently.



Yesterday afternoon Allie found a pair of her pajamas in her bedroom. She kept trying to put them on (trying to pull them over her head like she would put on a shirt)....to no avail. She finally handed them to me and wanted me to put them on over her clothes...so I did! She crawled around with her pajamas half way on over her clothes for much of the afternoon. Silly baby.....

Allie's first birthday party

Our little girl is growing up.....

This weekend we celebrated Allie's first birthday. Although the weather didn't cooperate for our pool party/cook out, we made the best of it. After running in and out to cook the burgers and dogs in the downpour, the rain lightened up and we decided we'd let the kids swim for a while and then have our cake and ice cream by the pool. When we gave Allie her own little cake, she was a bit tentative at first, and then she took a big handful of the pink fondant bow and shoved it into her mouth...YUCK! She loved that bow....I tried to take it away from her and take it off the top of the cake so that she would dig in to the cake, but she just cried. So, she had several mouthfuls of the pink bow and finally decided to spit it out to forgo the belly-ache that was inevitably coming her way.

After a few bites of cake, it was time for Allie to open her presents. She got lots of fun toys, beautiful clothes, stuffed animals, a rocky horse, and a special bear named "Teddy". After opening presents, it was time for Ms. Allie's nap. She had a great day with her family and friends celebrating a fantastic and unforgettable first year....

My first Mother's Day

Allie, David, and I had a great Mother's Day...brunch at the Ritz Carlton on Lake Oconee, and the afternoon watching the final round of The Player's Championship. What more could you ask for??? It was a great first Mother's Day....

Off to the Beach, May 2009

Allie took off to the beach last week for her first beach trip this summer. She wasn't a big fan of the sand (and the cold ocean water), but she did love the heated pool. She got to wear her fancy new bathing suit and matching hat for the first time (don't tell anyone, but she only wears a diaper when she swims at home), and what's a trip to the beach without a giant Strawberry-Banana smoothie??!! Although she loved playing in the water, Allie's favorite discovery was the carousel...she liked the mini train too, but it was almost impossible to get her off the carousel each afternoon...thank goodness for the all day pass!
